UP2 Special Cleaning Recipe "The Trumpet"

The trumpet is my life. What does a musical instrument mean to you? I'm sure everyone has played an instrument at least once. I think you played recorder and keyboard harmonica in elementary school. It's dirty not to clean the instrument you played, isn't it? But cleaning the instrument is a little difficult. That's why I want to teach you how to clean your instrument. Keeping your instrument clean is important. Because the instrument is also alive. If you play an instrument without daily care, it will not produce a true sound. So, let me teach you how to clean your instruments! This time I will teach you how to clean the trumpet!

What you will need to:

  • Large bath towels (2~4)
  • Paper towels (option)
  • A bathtub or large sink or bucket
  • Brass Soap (Dish soap)
  • Flexible Cleaner (YAMAHA)
  • Valve oil
  • Slide grease
  • Tuning slide oil

1.First, fill a bathtub or sink or bucket with hot water and put an appropriate amount of brass soap there. (If you don't have soap, you can use dish soap) This means making water for washing the instrument.

2.Second, pull out all valves(pistons) and tubes of the trumpet. Remember to be able to put everything back in the same place.

3.Put valves and tube you pulled out into the water prepared in step 1.(If possible, put the trumpet body in the water.) Leave it on for a few minutes.

4.Next, clean the valves and tube in the water using Flexible Cleaner. Let's remove all dirt.

5Then, throw away the water prepared in step 1. After that wash all valves and tubes with clean water.

6.After that, dry all the washed things. Lay a large bath towel in a large space and dry it there. Leave it for a day and it will dry. If you want to go to the next step right now, wipe off the water with paper towels.

7.When the washed thing dries, put it back on the trumpet body. Use Valve oil for pistons, Tuning slide oil for first and third valve slides, and Slide grease for main tuning slides and second valve slides.

8.Now you can play the Trumpet!

I will teach you the arrangement recipe here. If you don't have brass soap, you can use dish soap. If you don't have a flexible cleaner, just wash it off with plenty of water. If you arrange it on your own without knowing anything about it, you may damage the instrument, so be careful.

How was my special "How To Clean The Trumpet" recipe? Was it difficult to clean the Trumpet? Actuary, clieaning the instrument can be difficult. So by looking at the recipe (how to do it), you can safely clean the instrument without breaking it. If you wash the instrument incorrectly, it may break. So, if you don't know the procedure, let's clean while looking at the recipe with the procedure.

  1. Good evening, MacNoli. Well done to both parties for the UP2 activity.
It is a very detailed cleaning procedure. I watched the video and I could see that MacNoli takes very good care of his instruments.
Not only that, I didn't have much opportunity to touch the instruments, so reading this made me want to touch them.
